WIKY CAMP 2026 · DAILY UPDATE — MONDAY, JULY 20
Monday marked the first day of Wiky Camp 2026, and by every measure it was a wonderful start. Attendance at the day camp was strong, and as the team gathered to worship together under the tent, many felt the presence of the Holy Spirit move among them. The day ran smoothly from start to finish — with one memorable exception: a group of boys stumbled onto a wasp nest, and several kids ended up with stings. True to the spirit of the day, it barely slowed anyone down, and the afternoon carried on without missing a beat.
Volleyball camp told a different story. Pickups ran well behind schedule, and the gym didn't get going until nearly 11:30 — a reminder that the individual, family-by-family work of coordinating rides is more than half the battle of running this camp. Texting parents, confirming times, and physically getting to each home is, in many ways, what makes the whole week possible. Getting a child to the campsite is the win; everything else follows from there.
One of the quieter highlights of the day came from the youth team, who pitched in on setup, teardown, and cleanup, and spent the day playing alongside the younger campers. Their maturity didn't go unnoticed.
And then there's the tent itself. For the first time, the team built a tabernacle and then worshiped God inside the very structure they'd just raised — a strange and beautiful thing to experience firsthand. Remarkably, Sophia had preached just a few weeks earlier on the tent where Abraham and Sarah were visited by three men who told them Sarah would have a son — a passage that was both prophetic and a lesson in trusting the Lord. It's no coincidence that camp itself would come down to pitching a tent and trusting God to use this new venue to host it. None of it would have been possible without Ali Jo, who opened her property for the week. What's easy to miss is the deeper story behind that gift: Ali Jo has spent more than twenty-five years praying over that land, asking that it would one day become a place of worship. She holds a vision of a church standing there. Monday, in its own small way, was an answer to that prayer.
Before the day was done, Ali Jo prayed over every family individually and shared a word to bless each one — a quiet, personal moment for every family who set foot on her property to know they are loved by Jesus.
